During their time in Day Hospice patients can access practical help and advice in relation to managing their symptoms. They can also work with our Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist to improve their mobility and quality of life.
Time in Day Hospice can also give people the opportunity to talk through issues and help them adjust to the changes the illness might have made to their lives.
When and where

Our Day Hospice is open 3 days a week - Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday - from 10.30am to 3.30pm, in the Garden Room here at the Hospice. Patients come for one day a week for up to 12 weeks. Lunch is provided and we can arrange transport.
The Staff
The Day Hospice is run by health professionals and trained volunteers. Patients can also meet other members of the team for assessment and advice; this might include the Hospice Doctor, Counsellor, Social Worker or Chaplain.
Who comes?
Groups of up to 10 patients meet in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and can take part in a variety of activities - including relaxation techniques and a range of craft and artwork therapies.
What will happen?
Before starting at Day Hospice patients are asked to come with a family member (if possible) for an initial assessment. This helps us understand their illness and how it is affecting them. Then together we plan what they would like to achieve from their time with us.
